A Video about our Party

On Thursday, we had our holiday party. It was a success. During the party, I had volunteers taking pictures of the kindergarteners. Our activities included making a brownie reindeer, a candy cane, a jingle bell necklace, and reading letters from Santa Claus.

The kids had such a great time eating, crafting and reading.

My favorite activity was receiving letters from Santa Slaus. We had written letters using Stationary Studio the previous week. We shipped them to the North Pole (high school AP Spanish), and patiently waited for Santa's reply. In the middle of the party, one of our teachers stormed into our classroom and said that Santa had just handed her the letters. We distributed them to the students. The letters were cold because they had come from the north pole. The students had their parents and volunteers help to read the letters.
Throughout the party we were taking many pictures of the different activities. The kids went home with a belly full of sugar and a mind filled with excitement.

The day after the party, we chose some pictures that represented the majority of activities and used them to make a photo story. A group of six students carefully narrated the events as they appeared on the pictures from their point of view. After we finished the story, we added it to our class's YouTube account as an unlisted video. We shared the link with the high school students as a way to thank them for their generous literacy contribution to our party.
